Skill Sets
Obviously, a build project or a remodel, as well as handyman projects can require multiple skill sets, these are not to be taken for granted, even the smallest task can result in less than desirable results without the skills and experience necessary to perform it, and almost every task, as mundane as it may seem, has nuances to it that are significant. We try to use “in house” skill sets where we can, it makes scheduling easier, keeps quality control more in our circle of control, and helps with integrated work schedules, and alleviates issues related to stacked serial processes, where one set of tasks can interrupt or delay the whole project.
Engineering versus Trade Practices
There are at least three levels in building, remodeling, and handyman services arena. On one level, an individual may have learned “the trade” through trade practices, tools, and helps, such as how to use a speed square for a rafter cut. On another level, we have the engineering level, where we are actually calculating and looking at potential issues that are outside of the generalized approach of trade practices. Third, there are task-learned operations that are used by androids to perform specific tasks, while this may read like the lesser of the three categories, we need to remember with laser sighting, pattern recognition, and Ai deference engines, more accurate and consistent results can be achieved. Androids don’t get tired, their function is nearly unwaveringly consistent.
Engineering, Art, and Trade Practices – Integrating the Three
When one does a build or remodel, they generally want it to look right. Yes, at the foundation of most projects, we want to be absolutely sure that structural standards, snow loads, and the like are met, but beyond this there is the aesthetic of the project, and this is predominately a human function, looking at proportionality, color contrast and complementation, and a variety of other factors, that a project into the realm of artistic expression, versus scientific/engineering/mathematical calculations.
