Our Story

OUR STORY

There is richness and profound beauty in the forest setting of trees that change color in the fall, we try to bring this kind of richness and beauty to our work, though competing with mother nature, is a tall order. Golden Leaf Industries, Inc. was founded in 2015, as a Building, Remodeling, and Handyman services company, established to promote natural and sustainable living spaces. This has taken us into many areas from solar power to some unique design projects. Along with bathroom, and kitchen remodels, and building outdoor spaces like decks.

A SET OF PRACTICES

Building and remodeling has been a set of practices for me over the years and something I did both as a “labor of love” and to fund my academic projects. There is a point in a project where you go over that last set of details, cleaning surfaces, rubbing down trim finishes, and more, making sure everything is “just so” and you stand back and take it in, and often for me along with this there is grieving in leaving it behind, but sitting right next to this grief is the joy that comes with what was created. While not monetarily tangible, this is probably the more significant reason “why” I do this work and find it so rewarding.

TURNING IT OVER

At this point, the project is bequeathed to the customer. This isn’t to say the business owner/homeowner doesn’t have ultimate ownership of the project during its implementation, and it is our hope that it is absolutely a co-creative process, but it is the final turning over.

PROJECTS ARE OFTEN ORGANIC

Not all projects are this way, in fact, there are many where you, the customer, just need something basic done, and this is fairly straightforward, with the exception of hidden issues under floors, or behind walls, among other things, but this is pretty much mechanics. On another level though, where people are into creating the look, feel, and function of a space, this almost necessarily, is a bit organic, lighting, wall and floor coverings, proportionality, all of these things even with 3D walkthroughs are difficult to visualize until it begins to take place.
